Adding acid to pool
Posted 6/10/2009 3:23:57 PM by Anonymous    Reply
I needed to bring my PH down so I added 1 gal of pool acid to my 30,000 gal inground pool. I added the acid into the skimmer with the pump running so it would broadcast in the pool. After doing so I read on the container Do Not Put in Skimmer but pour directly into the pool in several areas. A couple hours later I noticed the pump was running but was not moving any water. I checked the impeller and it is turning freely. What did I screw up on my pump? I just rebuilt the pump about a month ago.

Beware !!

Always be very careful when using muriatic acid. Never spill it on the pool deck or yourself and always use eye protection and rubber gloves when handeling acid.
